Our meetups generally use the WRC 2025 ruleset with modifications, the main ones being for red fives (aka ari), 30/10 uma, and lower penalties.
As a brief summary:
75 minute (hand shuffled) or 60 minute (automatic table) hanchan timer. When the timer ends, finish the hand, play one last hand, then finish the game.
30,000 points start, 30,000 points return. No extension to West. 300 point honba.
30/10 uma.
Red fives (aka ari) ON.
Kiriage mangan: 40 han 30 and 3 han 60 are rounded to mangan.
Agariyame OFF: Dealer does not end the game after all last if they are in first; the game must end normally (e.g. dealer is noten at ryuukyoku, or a non-dealer wins).
Bankruptcy/Tobi OFF: Game continues if a player goes below 0 points, and players may riichi with less than 1000 points. Players will be given debt sticks (two 10000 point debt tenbou) each when dropping below 0 points.
Abortive Draws OFF: This includes nine unique terminals, four wind discard, 4 player riichi, etc.
Headbump ON: Double and triple ron are not allowed. The winning player is the player closest in turn order to the discarded deal-in tile.

Riichi: Allowed even in furiten, or if there are less than four tiles in the live wall.
Any riichi bets remaining on the table at the end of the hanchan are lost. They do not go to the winner.
Nagashi Mangan ON: Player must not have called any tiles.
Kazoe Yakuman ON
Double Yakuman OFF (e.g. suuankou tanki waiting on a single tile is scored as a single yakuman)
Stacking Yakuman ON (e.g. daisangen and suuankou in the same hand is scored as two separate yakuman)

Penalties: Lower penalties, chombo is a -20 point penalty to the final score of the hanchan.
